Dr Victoria Swale, MRCP,MD,FRCP,BM

Dr Victoria Swale is a highly experienced Consultant Dermatologist and Dermatopathologist (pathologist specialising in the diagnosis of skin disease). Her NHS base is at the Royal Free Hospital where she is a core member of the skin cancer multidisciplinary team. She is also a locum Consultant Dermopathologist at the Royal Free Hospital. She sees private patients at OneWelbeck Skin Health and Allergy.

Dr Swale is trained in all aspects of dermatology, including eczema, acne, hair loss, psoriasis, hidradenitis suppurativa, warts and other skin lesions and rashes. She has a specialist interest in skin cancer, moles and other pigmented lesions using dermoscopy and mole mapping, and in vulval and genital skin conditions.

She was awarded her Doctor of Medicine higher degree for her research into genetic aspects of skin cancer and moles.

Dr Swale was a member of the Dermatology Speciality Question Writing Group for the Royal College of Physicians from 2006-2019, when she was appointed to the Examination Board for Dermatology. She was the senior judge for the British Association of Dermatologists' Annual Meetings in 2017 and 2019 and has been involved in judging and chairing since then. She was appointed Assostant Honorary Secretary of the British Association of Dermatologists in 2023, leading to the role of Honorary Secretary in 2025.

She was a member of the Council for the British Society for the Study of Vulval Diseases from 2017-2023; she organised the 2019 National Conference.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr Swale is active in teaching both Dermatology and Pathology; she has been a regular invited speaker on several national courses over the last 10 years, and frequently teaches local GPs in London. She was invited to Italy to teach on a GP course in 2022.
