Athlete’s foot

Athlete’s foot, medically known as tinea pedis, is a fungal infection that affects the skin on the feet. It is most commonly found between the toes but can also affect the soles and sides of the feet. The condition is named because it’s prevalent among athletes who often have sweaty feet and use communal showers and locker rooms where the fungus thrives.
