Dr. Christos Tziotzios MA,MBBChir,MRCP,FHEA,FRCP

Dr Christos Tziotzios, Consultant Dermatologist and Senior Lecturer, is currently based at St. John's Institute of Dermatology, within the Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, London. He is highly specialised in the treatment of scalp and hair disorders, in addition to common dermatological issues (acne, psoriasis, eczema, lichen planus, etc), and skin cancer.

Dr Tziotzios began his medical education at the University of Cambridge where he graduated with his Bachelors in Medicine and Surgery (MB BChir). He then went on to do Academic Foundation Training, before being appointed Academic Clinical Fellow in Dermatology at St John's. During his training he also undertook a research degree, examining the molecular pathogenesis of frontal fibrosing alopecia. His work resulted in many high-profile publications in high-impact journals (including Nature Comms) and a PhD. His research work was further acknowledged with several prizes including the British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) Whimster Prize, the BAD Wycombe Prize, the Royal Society of Medicine Dermatology Research Prize and the NIHR/BAD Award.

He continues to remain an active member of the research community. Most recently, he was awarded the British Skin Foundation Young Investigator Award and leads a research consortium looking at lichenoid, scarring and alopecic disorders. Additionally, he is the national Chief Investigator (CI) for the ALLEGRO trials researching novel therapeutics for alopecia areata and has set up the Alopecia+me study, which is the burden of alopecia for individual. He consistently contributes to medical education by teaching and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students. He is frequently invited Speaker in conferences globally.
