The following is a list of methods seminars and workshops in chronological order. This list includes training opportunities in research methods offered by AcademyHealth at the National Health Policy Conference and the Annual Research Meeting. A description of methods seminars from the 2009 Annual Research Meeting is also available.

June 2010
- CASOS 2010 Summer Institute. The Computational Analysis of Social and Organizational Systems offers hands-on training in dynamic network analysis and computational modeling of complex socio-technical systems. The institute will be offered at Carnegie Melon University in Pittsburgh, PA, June 7-13, 2010.
- International Program for Development Evaluation Training (IPDET): Building Skills to Evaluate Development Interventions. June 7- July 2, 2010, Ottawa, Canada. The IPDET is an executive training program that aims to provide managers and practitioners the generic tools required to evaluate development policies, programs, and projects at the local, national, regional, and global levels.
- 2010 HORA Conference. The Twelfth Annual Health Organizational Research Association Conference will be held in Berkeley, California on June 10-11, 2010.
- 2010 ICPSR Summer Program. Courses vary in length from three days to four weeks and are offered throughout the summer, annually. Ann Arbor, MI. A program sponsored by the Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR). The first four-week session runs from June 21 through July 16. The second four-week session runs from July 19 through August 13. Shorter, three- to five-day courses are held throughout the summer.
- 2010 Annual Research Meeting June 27-29, 2010, Boston, MA. AcademyHealth’s Annual Research Meeting brings together health services researchers, providers, and key decision makers to address the critical challenges confronting the health care delivery system. The meeting provides opportunities to present and hear about cutting-edge research, debate timely policy issues, and learn about new methods and funding sources. - Ninth Annual Public Health Systems Research Interest Group (PHSR IG) Meeting, June 29-30, 2010, Boston, MA. The PHSR IG Meeting offers researchers the opportunity to disseminate their findings and provides policymakers and practitioners with information to make sound decisions to improve public health systems and practice.

- 10th Annual Summer Institute on Design and Conduct of Randomized Clinical Trials Involving Behavioral Interventions, July 11-23, 2010. A course offered by the Office of Behavioral and Social Sciences Research (OBSSR). The institute will provide a thorough grounding in the conduct of randomized clinical trials to researchers and health professionals interested in developing competence in the planning, design, and execution of randomized clinical trials involving behavioral interventions.
- Joint Statistical Meeting (JSM) 2010. July 31–August 5, 2010, Vancouver, British Columbia. The JSM is the largest gathering of statisticians held in North America. It is held jointly with the American Statistical Association, the International Biometric Society (ENAR and WNAR), the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, the Statistical Society of Canada, and the International Chinese Statistical Association, and the International Indian Statistical Association. Activities of the meeting include oral presentations, panel sessions, poster presentations, continuing education courses, exhibit hall (with state-of-the-art statistical products and opportunities), career placement service, society and section business meetings, committee meetings, social activities, and networking opportunities.

- NALBOH 18th Annual Conference. The National Association of Local Boards of Health is holding its annual conference in Omaha, Nebraska on August 5-7, 2010. This year will have a theme of "Journey to the Future: Facing Public Health Challenges Today for a Healthier Tomorrow," which will provide attendees with information, skills, and resources to help them improve public health in their communities
- 2010 National Conference on Health Statistics. August 16-18, 2010, Washington, DC. A day of workshops will include information on all NCHS surveys and data collection systems. Educational and hands-on sessions will also be available to help you use and analyze data.

- MLA 2010 Annual Meeting and Exhibition. May 15-20, 2010, Washington, DC. The Medical Library Association annual meeting is an opportunity to present and discuss papers, posters, applied research, and important issues in health sciences information management.
- 2nd Annual JERHRE Workshop on Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR). April 8-9, 2010. The Center for Public Policy at the University of Houston and the Community-Campus Partnerships for health co-sponsor this workshop on lessons for researchers and community leaders focused on CBPR. The workshop will draw on the expertise of academicians and community leaders to examine the challenges of conducting CBPR and the qualities that make it successful. Building on the discussions in our first workshop (held in April 2009) participants will examine the definition of what a community is, focusing on alternative contexts such as online communities, neighborhoods, institutions, and cultural groups. The workshop will also explore ways to creating a research relationship between academicians and the community that can last for decades and optimize its knowledge potential
- NCOA-ASA Aging in America 2010 Joint Conference. The National Council on Aging and American Society on Aging will hold their annual meeting on March 15-19, 2010, Chicago, IL. The NCOA and ASA joint conference is the largest gathering of a diverse, multidisciplinary community of professionals from the fields of aging, healthcare and education. Aging in America is recognized as a showcase for programs and projects that can be replicated, a forum for policy discussion and advocacy, and a prime source of information on new research findings in aging.
- Health Services Research and Development Service (HSR&D) Cyber Seminars. The Department of Veterans Affairs HSR&D offers a variety of seminars on specific topics throughout the year. Archived seminars are also available on demand.
- 2010 NHPC. The National Health Policy Conference, February 8-9, 2010, JW Marriott, Washington, DC, hosted by AcademyHealth and Health Affairs, provides insider perspectives on the critical health care issues and priorities for the upcoming year.
- 8th International Conference on Health Policy Statistics: Quantitative Insights and Advances in Health Policy Analysis, hosted by the American Statistical Association, will take place on January 20-22, 2010 at The Fairmont Hotel in Washington, DC. The program will include an invited session and a special panel discussion on Comparative Effectiveness Research.
